the Opportunities

  • The role of the Youth Hub Coordinator is to coordinate, plan and implement after school youth activities within the Fitzroy Crossing region.  Activities will be based largely from the Fitzroy Recreation Centre with some outreach into surrounding remote communities as required.  The Fitzroy Valley Youth Hub aims to collaborate with community providers to establish a holistic access point for youth wishing to access diversionary and specialist services.

  • The Active Communities Coordinator (ACC) will be responsible for the delivery of the organisation’s Kimberley Active Communities Project in the Fitzroy Valley and surrounding remote communities. The ACC manages the planning, implementation, and delivery of Garnduwa’s Kimberley Active Community (KAC) Project, and other associated programs and activities, within Fitzroy Valley and surrounding remote communities.

  • As a Community Recreation Officer (CRO) you are employed to organise and run sports sessions and community events for people in your own community. You would work about 6 hours per week over two to three afternoons in your own community.

    We will provide you with training and support in sport and recreation planning and activity delivery.

    This role requires an interest in the well-being of your community. Enjoying sport and working as part of a team and independently is an important part of the job.
