Suicide Prevention with Dr Tracy Westerman

Last week Garnduwa hosted Dr Tracy Westerman alongside our partners in Broome for a two day workshop coinciding with our annual end of year staff development week. Dr Westerman is a Nyamal woman from the Pilbara region who is recognised as a world leader in Aboriginal mental health, cultural competency and suicide prevention.

Participants attended a two day workshop in "Suicide Prevention in Aboriginal Communities" giving insight to mental health and strategies to support. Garnduwa feel very privileged to give this opportunity of learning to our staff and our community partners as we continue to make differences in our communities in our respected fields.
