Are you a creative communicator who loves telling powerful stories that make a difference?
Garnduwa is seeking a full-time Communications Coordinator to join our Broome-based team.
This exciting role will see you coordinate Garnduwa’s communications and media activities across the Kimberley, helping share stories of culture, community and leadership that celebrate the strength of our people.
You’ll play a key role in delivering Garnduwa’s Communications Plan, managing our social media and website, and producing content that showcases the impact of our programs and partnerships.
About the role
As the Communications Coordinator, you’ll:
Bring Garnduwa’s Communications Plan to life by sharing stories that make people stop, smile and feel proud.
Create and publish engaging content across social media, our website, newsletters and other platforms.
Get behind the camera and into community to capture real moments of local leadership, culture and sport in action.
Make sure everything we share is culturally safe, authentic and true to Garnduwa’s voice.
Build strong connections with staff, partners and local media to help Garnduwa’s stories reach more people across the Kimberley.
Keep an eye on what’s working by tracking engagement and sharing simple, useful insights.
Travel across the Kimberley to attend events, meet communities and capture the energy of Garnduwa on the ground.
This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about storytelling, enjoys digital media, and wants to make a real impact through community-led communications.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A strong communicator with skills in social media, writing and digital content creation
Experienced in communications, media or marketing (preferably in community or not-for-profit settings)
Able to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities and partners
Organised, creative and confident using tools such as Canva, Squarespace, Mailchimp and Meta Business Suite
A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a values-based environment
Willing and able to travel to regional and remote communities as required
