Fitzroy Valley Youth Coordinator

About the role

The role of the Fitzroy Valley Youth Hub Coordinator is to coordinate, plan and implement youth activities within the Fitzroy Valley region.  The Youth Hub aims to collaborate with community providers to establish a well supported access point for youth wishing to access diversionary and specialist services. 

This role is supported by 2.0FTE Youth Workers and carries a Case Management load. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Activities will be based largely from the Fitzroy Recreation Center with some outreach into surrounding remote communities required. 

  • Coordination and promotion of youth programs which target children at risk within the Fitzroy Valley region.

  • Engage and maintain effective and close working relationships with other youth related services aiming to jointly plan strategies and share resources to achieve common outcomes for the benefit of youth in the Fitzroy Valley.

  • Facilitate the development and delivery of programs and activities tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of Fitzroy Valley youth.

  • Formulate, assist and maintain an effective case management strategy for a minimum of 10 clients per annum.

  • Support the ongoing operations of the Fitzroy Valley Youth Hub.

  • Facilitate youth input into decision making and governance processes that effect their participation in community life in the Fitzroy Valley.

  • Prepare submissions and reports as required to relevant funding and associated agencies in regard to program delivery, program outcomes and relevant recommendations.

  • Attend and support the objectives of the Fitzroy Valley Futures forum and relevant sub-committees

  • Manage and mentor the staff employed to work at or from the youth Hub.

  • Maintain cultural identification and awareness within all Garnduwa activities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Case Management experience

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Excellent relationship and communication skills, both written and oral.

  • C class driver's license (Manual)

  • Holds a Working with Children permit.

Benefits and perks

Salary=$71,000-75,000 pa+ superannuation + salary sacrifice benefits

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Demonstrated skills in the management and implementation of youth programs

2. Experience working with vulnerable people and those with complex case need including the preparation and management of client case data.

3. Proven capacity to engage and coordinate a diverse range of external stakeholders

4. Experience managing employees

5. Experience in the collation and evaluation and delivery of performance data.
