Head Coach – Kimberley Spirit Male Program
The Kimberley Spirit Football Academy is the Kimberley regions Australian football talent program. Kimberley Spirit is linked to the WA Football Commissions talent pathway and has assisted several young footballers reach the WAFL and AFL including Sam Petrevski-Seton (Carlton Blues), Francis Watson (West Coast Eagles), Cedric Cox (Brisbane Lions) and Joel Hamling (Geelong Cats, Western Bulldogs and Fremantle Dockers).
The program aims to produce “Successful footballers and quality Kimberley people who reach their full potential on & off the field”. We’re looking for a Head Coach for the Kimberley Spirit Male Program
Reporting to: Kimberley Spirit Program Coordinator (Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan) the commitment required is as follows:
Delivering the U/16’s pre-season program in Broome (1 session per week February to April).
Delivering the U/16’s pre-carnival program in Broome (August to September).
2019 Kimberley Spirit U/16’s Development Carnival – September 21 & 22.
2019 Kimberley Spirit U/19’s Camp – March 2 to March 4 (desirable).
2019 Kimberley Colts Championships – June 1 to June 2 (desirable).
Position Responsibilities include:
Training session planning and delivery for the pre-season and pre-carnival programs.
Assisting Kimberley Spirit Program Coordinator with player selection where possible (e.g.
Broome Regional Hub, North West Academy, Colts Championships and U/16’s Carnival).
Scouting local junior, school and senior football where possible.
Coaching teams at regional football events where required (e.g. Central Kimberley Colts at
Assist with delivery of at least 1 local coach development opportunity.
Individual Development Plan’s following program conclusion.
