Mandy has impressive football experience on the field as a player and off the field as coach:

  •  Captain of the Western Australian team at the 2003 National Championships.

  •   7 years as captain of the Swan Districts Women Football Club.

We asked Mandy a few questions about her new coaching role and here’s what she had to say:

What most excites me about this opportunity?

“Being able to firstly identify potential and then work with young female talent in the Kimberley with hope of uncovering future AFLW stars.”

What will you be focusing on with the girls at the start of the program?

“Firstly, my aim will be to make sure they understand what will be expected of them throughout the program.  Solid foundations will be key for me and ensuring we create an environment where players want to better themselves both on and off the field.”

How does this program help female footy in the Kimberley?

“I'm hoping it gives young girls in the Kimberley something to strive for and a clear pathway for them to showcase their talent in the future.”

The pre-season training program will begin on Monday 11th of February 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Father McMahon Oval (BRAC). Invitations will be sent but any female footballers between the ages of 14 and 18 who would like to improve their footy are welcome to attend.
