Wow! What a fantastic day! On Wednesday, 67 young females from Broome and Djarindjin community came together to participate in Garnduwa’s annual Smarter than Smoking Deadly Diva Day event.

The day aims to promote positive mental and physical health messages – and to inspire young women to assess the benefits of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, to encourage positive self-esteem, encourage participation in sport and recreational activities and introduce various support agencies and services.

Massive thanks to all the agencies involved on the day delivering workshops - PCYC, Boab Health, Wunan Foundation, KMHDS, BRAMS, BYFH, KPHU, CAMHS and  Astyn @ Studio 34. Thank you to all the school staff who helped organise the girls to be there on the day and supervised. To Katy and Michelle at Helping Minds and my Garnduwa crew...you ladies rock!!! Massive thanks to ongoing supporters, Cable Beach Club Resort, Hidden Valley Handcrafts and KPHU Kimberley Dental team, Healthway for your donations towards our health and wellness bags and finally, to Rio Tinto, Shire of Broome and Kimberley Ports Authority for your kind contribution in making it a fantastic day for our future young leaders.
