On Thursday, August 7th Garnduwa held the high school girls Smarter than Smoking East Kimberley Basketball Competition. Warmun made the two hour trip across to Kununurra to add to the tough competition for all teams involved. At the completion of the qualifying games Warmun finished top of the ladder to secure a direct route into the Grand Final.

Their opponent was determined when the two Kununurra teams faced off in a very close semi-final. It ended with only a two point difference in favour of Kununurra Black who were ready for the challenge of facing off with Warmun.

The Grand Final was an absolute nail biter. Warmun held a seven point lead at half time and looked strong all across the court, however, Kununurra Black were relentless in the second half and clawed their way back to lead by one point deep into the game. With only minutes to go, Warmun were able to regroup and dig deep to secure the win.

Thanks to all the girls for a great day of competition and congratulations to Warmun.
