Every Tuesday at Red Hill you can be guaranteed to see a rowdy group of school children participating in their weekly sporting program delivered by Garnduwa and Halls Creek Youth Services. About 50 students from Pre-Primary through Year 7 from Warlawurru Catholic School, just outside Halls Creek, get involved in the morning sports program.

The morning usually begins with a warm up led by the Garnduwa and Halls Creek Youth Services teams. It is an aerobic style session to get the kids ready and raring to go for the rest of the day. A huge favourite for the students is when they play sports such as basketball and football but they also enjoy the wide variety of other games they have been taught to play.

Principal Clare Grey has been most impressed with the program this year. Principal Grey said, “The kids really enjoy it and Garnduwa and Shire of Halls Creek Youth Services teams do a fantastic job”. She hopes to see the program continue next year to give the students more quality sports time each week.
