Jarrah Phillips gets the game off to a start

Two new faces have appeared in Fitzroy Crossing over the past weeks both bringing a wealth of experience to the Garnduwa office. Cissy Gore-Birch is the new Fitzroy Crossing Smarter than Smoking Active Community Coordinator having relocated to Fitzroy from Kununurra. Cissy has already kicked off netball in a big way with training and mixed social games starting in the past few weeks. Cissy would welcome any volunteer support to officiate or in any other capacity as well as hear from interested players. She is contactable on 9191 5358.

Many of you may also have met our new Youth Hub Manager, Shane Siataga. Shane has an extensive background in youth activities and the operations of the Fitzroy Youth Hub are well underway with a combined monthly Community Youth Calendar having been drafted and sent out to any interested parties for their involvement. Local organisations that are keen to become involved with the Youth Hub should catch up with Shane or Thomas at the Fitzroy Recreation Centre or call them on 9191 5358. After school activities are well underway at the Recreation Centre with junior soccer and football having started this term with enthusiasm.

This month also brought about the departure of our Smarter than Smoking Active Community Officer Jarrah Phillips. Jarrah has done some great work both in Fitzroy Crossing and in the Valley communities over the past year. Garnduwa would like to thank Jarrah for the time that he spent with us and we wish him well in his future endeavours.
