The Kimberley Spirit Football Academy has had a great start to 2018 which is mainly due to the quality coaches that have joined the team.

The most recent addition to the Kimberley Spirit Football Academy coaching team is Craig Kimberley. Craig will be taking on the role of Head Coach with the Halls Creek Regional Hub (AFL U/16's). The Halls Creek Regional Hub is for talented footballers aged between 11 to 16 who reside in Halls Creek or surrounding communities.

Craig has had success at different levels of football all over Australia including:

- 1993 Premiership in the HDFL.

- 1996 Senior Coach of the year - Victoria Country Zone.

- 2006 Coach of the Sunshine Coast U/14's Representative team.

- 2011 Assistant Coach of the Northern Territory Thunder U/16's team.

Craig has also previously worked for AFL NT which gives him a sound understanding of football in regional/remote areas.

When asked why he took on this role Craig said "To simply have an influence on these guys lives in helping provide opportunities. While also creating stronger knowledge and not only with footy but what also expands outside of that while in a positive, encouraging, educating environment."

The Kimberley Spirit Football Academy is excited to have Craig on board and looking forward to seeing the Halls Creek Regional Hub progress in 2018.

Training will start in the next two weeks, keep an eye on our events page or visit the "Kimberley Footy" Facebook page.
