School

Throughout the year there are a number of netball carnivals organised or supported by Garnduwa for school participation. The biggest school based event that Garnduwa supports is the Kimberley Cup for secondary school aged students.

The Kimberley Cup is the Kimberley equivalent to Country Week and is held in Broome each year in the last week of term 2 and provides an opportunity for students to represent their school in a number of sports and not just netball. Schools also use this event as a reward option for students who have good school attendance and demonstrate good behaviour during the year.

At a primary school level the West Kimberley Netball Carnival is held in Broome during June each year.  Derby District High School (Primary) and Holy Rosary School also play an interschool competition as a lead into the Carnival.

Garnduwa also hosts a number of primary school based Carnivals held in regional centres for surrounding communities to attend and compete. Contact your local Garnduwa Office for more information.

Community Netball

Garnduwa provides assistance to local competitions across the Kimberley mainly through the provision of coach and officiating education and development or by providing expert advice as to how the competition can run better.  Garnduwa also supports community groups through the establishment stage of setting up a new competition and sourcing the resources required to run a competition.  This support is mainly targeted at remote communities.

Garnduwa does host a number of one or two day carnivals for juniors throughout the year, also targeting remote communities, and any community can find out when these carnivals are held by contacting their local Garnduwa office

Most regional centres in the Kimberley have a junior netball association or if not a local group that run junior netball competitions.
